Steph McIsaac (they/them) believes that moving the body freely in community is one of the greatest sources of joy and healing in this life. Steph is a contemporary dance practitioner, registered yoga teacher, authorized Continuum Movement Teacher-in-Training, and is currently completing their Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification. Based between New York City and Portland, Maine, they are also an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Bowdoin College, where they teach classes on anti-oppressive approaches to embodiment, health, and healing. Steph holds a PhD in Medical Anthropology from UC Berkeley, and has spent the last decade researching intergenerational trauma, structural vulnerability, and decolonial approaches to mental health care.
