Details

Fascinated by the dances of different cultures, Romy began her explorations through the world of movement with Oriental Dance in 1996. After three years of intense practice, she trained in 1999 to become a teacher of Oriental Dance and Folklore.

Shortly afterwards she was invited to join the Oriental Folklore Performance Group, “Wuestentoechter,” where she remained for nine years. Her interest in fusion streams combining elements from various ethnical dances led her to learn Flamenco, African Dance, Afro-Brasilian, Tango and Contact Improvisation. Romy was especially fascinated by the bioenergetic inner waves she felt during Flamenco, drum music and the Orixas Afrobrasilian dances.

Other milestones in her journey in search for body and soul connection were the Sivananda Yoga Teacher’s Training in India and Frank Natale’s Training as Trance Dance Facilitator.

Romy started teaching Biodanza in 2010, became trainer and supervisor in 2013, specializing in shamanism and the work with nature’s elements. The path followed with the Training of Gabrielle Roth’s 5 Rhythms, which she has been teaching as a certified teacher since 2014 in the form of drop-in sessions, weekly courses and weekend workshops.

Observing her students through their dance processes brought Romy to study psychotherapy in order to support her students more completely.

In 2016 Romy discovered the magic of Continuum Movement. She was intrigued with the inner processes, less visible but so much deeper. Her passion for this work brought Romy to begin the teacher training modules in 2018.

In her practice as a Continuum Movement teacher in training, Romy combines all the knowledge gained during her years of teaching dance, her understanding of processes, combined with Spanish charm, humour and lightness. Romy is a dedicated teacher who inspires her students with her passion for Continuum Movement – to really inhabit their bodies, gently encouraging them to lovingly inquire within, feel the curiosity to explore the magic of intrinsic movement and surrender to the unfolding process of what it means to be human. Such elements open gates for transformative healing work, enhancing the energies already present within each one of us, waiting to be activated and freely manifest.
