Details

Karla is a former professional ballet dancer. Her career included engagements with The National Ballet of Canada, the Stuttgart Ballet, and the Zürich Ballet at the Opera House Zürich, where she danced in a variety of roles throughout the classical repertoire.

Her profession as a ballet dancer awakened a deep passion to understand and explore the body and its consciousness as part of an ongoing process of healing, self-transformation, and evolution.

Meeting Susan Harper and encountering Continuum at a workshop in Switzerland in 2000 and then Emilie Conrad a few months later opened life-changing ways of experiencing what it means to be in a body for Karla. These experiences awakened an ongoing journey that has and is continuously unfolding in surprising and miraculous ways…including becoming an Authorized Continuum Movement Teacher in 2018 upon completing the Teacher Training Modules with Donnalea Van Fleet Goelz and all the wonderful Module teachers who both assisted and taught by her side.

As part of her journey, Karla’s education has included becoming a practitioner of Ortho-Bionomy (a gentle form of bodywork based on Osteopathy ), a 4 year intensive study in energy healing and self transformation at the Snowlion Center School in Europe, 3 years training in Core Energetics body psychotherapy, and completion of a 3 year program in depth psychology at the Center for Intentional Living. She is completing a Masters Degree in Expressive Arts Coaching at the European Graduate School in Saas Fee, Switzerland.

Karla is passionate about using the Expressive Arts, movement, and Continuum Movement as a doorway to uncovering the Self and a deeper connection to life and what is alive within us. She offers private sessions and workshops near her home in the area of Zürich and in Switzerland.
