Originally called “Yoga for Dancers”, The GYROKINESIS® Method is a unique movement system that addresses the entire body; opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, massaging the internal organs, increasing range of motion and creating functional, deeply connected strength through enjoyable rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. Exercises are smoothly and harmoniously connected through the use of breath, making the class feel more like a combination of dance, swimming, and tai-chi than just traditional yoga. Accessible to all levels, from those recovering from injury to highly-trained athletes, Gyrokinesis classes can be adapted to fit anyone’s ability.

This unique exercise system was created by Juliu Horvath, integrating his intensive studies of yoga, dance, and gymnastics with a in-depth holistic knowledge of the body. Both gentle and invigorating, Gyrokinesis enhances aerobic and cardiovascular stimulation, promotes neuromuscular rejuvenation, and is especially supportive for restoring the suppleness and elongation of the spine. The fluid movements mobilize the joints while simultaneously stretching and strengthening the tissues, educating the body to move with a dynamic sense of relaxation and power. By the end of a Gyrokinesis class, one’s entire physical and energetic system is awakened and brought into a greater depth of fluidity, vitality, balance, and peace.
