Embodiment: The Journey Home to Ourselves

Event Details

  • Date:

“I see our bodies formed by the liquid of our first cradle. Our early watery environment shapes and gives us its secret. This is our first home, our ‘primordial field.’ The fluid in our cells is our birthplace, our memory of the creative matrix in which all life is summoned.”
Emilie Conrad, founder of ContinuumMovement

“We do not live on the earth, we are the earth.” Sister Miriam MacGillis

In this fast moving era, so many of us are looking for deep rest, renewal and safety. Through the practice of Continuum, the nature of the body becomes a process we learn to reclaim, recognize, and trust again. Continuum is an innovative exploration of the body as a fluid system. From the formation of galaxies to the pulsing cells of the human body, all life forms have been shaped by and share the fundamental movement of spiraling fluid systems. From the waves of the air, the waters of the planet, the rays of the sun and the unfolding growth of plants– all life is in movement. Composed primarily of water, all exchange of information within the body and with the larger world happens through this universal language of fluid movement.

The longing for restoration and a return to an experience of living with ease and possibility is answered in Continuum. As we join with the biologically based primary movements that are ever present within us, we learn how restoration and renewal is the birthright of our fluid nature. Many who participate express the delight of finding a way through Continuum to offer self-care and new dimensions of supportive bodywork to themselves.

In this workshop, Robin weaves her expertise and knowledge of Continuum Movement together with her lifelong study of the body and physical expression through dance and movement improvisation. The workshop will include a ‘dreamtime’ or a period of silence, during which we move and rest in the deep listening and resonance of the group.

AUGUST 1 —from 10am to 6pm will be An Introduction to Continuum, that is a requirement for those who are new to the work.
The in-depth workshop will begin on AUGUST 2.
This movement practice is appropriate and safe for everyone at ALL mobility levels.
No previous movement or dance experience is required.
